Ancient Cultures Remember
Long before modern science or organised religion, countless indigenous and ancient cultures around the world directly remembered the same fundamental truth: awareness is the ground of all existence. From the Māori understanding of mauri and the living unity of Te Ao Mārama, to the Hindu Brahman, the Taoist Tao, the Native American Great Spirit, Aboriginal Dreamtime, and African traditions of ancestral consciousness — the same recognition appears again and again across continents and millennia. They knew the separate self is only a temporary appearance within one boundless field of awareness. This paper maps the remarkable convergence. The axiom we point to today is not new. It is humanity’s oldest and most universal remembering.
